This document is a four page original battlefield manuscript copy of General Orders No. 262, written from the Headquarters of the Army at Tacubaya, Mexico, on August 24, 1847. The document outlines sixteen points of an armistice to end the U.S. War with Mexico. In is secretarily signed by the five commissioners that negotiated its terms as well as Generals A.L. de Santa Anna and Winfield Scott.
